The Stroke CT Interpretation Course
COURSE INFORMATION

Imaging with Computed Tomography (CT) has an essential role in the hyperacute stroke pathway. Accurate interpretation of imaging helps to guide further treatment and this is often performed in a time-pressured situation.

The aim of the course is to improve imaging interpretation of both non contrast CT head imaging and CT angiographic imaging of the head and neck. Focus on stroke mimics is also provided.

This is achieved with a combination of short lectures and review of multiple cases on iMACs with Osirix software.

The course is limited to a maximum of 12 attendees per course to improve interactive feedback and case discussion of imaging findings.

A total of 6 CPD Category I Points credits are awarded for attendance.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day and course lunch is also provided.

COURSE PROGRAMME
Series of short didactic lectures covering;

A review of normal brain anatomy
-
Stroke CT head interpretation - what to look for in the acute setting
-
CT angiographic imaging – how to approach imaging of the intra and extracranial vessels
-
Role of further imaging and endovascular intervention
Interactive series of 60 cases with a combination of CT head, CT angiogram and MR imaging covering a range of acute stroke presentations and stroke mimics.
Small group teaching session format and a maximum of 12 course attendees per course to maximise the level of interactive teaching and case feedback
Each course participant will have a dedicated iMAC workstation that is easy to navigate through the Osirix database and individual case
Refreshments provided throughout the day and lunch orders are taken at the time of course registration.
